The Metro Denver Health and Wellness Commission (MDHWC) will provide overall direction, priorities and decision-making during its plenary meetings. However, in order to ensure that the MDHWC is inclusive and operates both efficiently and effectively, committees comprised of both commission members and non-members with key perspectives, knowledge and expertise will accomplish much of its work between commission meetings. With the adoption of the MDHWC Strategic Plan: 2007-2012 – Our Recipe to Create America’s Healthiest Community ,the MDHWC has implemented three key initiatives: Healthiest Schools And Early Childhood Programs; Healthiest Worksites; Healthiest Communities, in addtion to the following committee structure: Executive Committee, Organizational Development Committee, Communications Committee, and the Insurance Committee.
